The Arboretum comprises approximately 700 varieties, all of which are named. These include many rare and interesting specimens.

In spring, there are extensive plantings of naturalised daffodils, of some 90 selective cultivars, which drift beneath the trees through part of the Arboretum. Also of note is a very attractive area of Fritillarias.
